Classes and Workshops
We offer classes and workshops in reading, writing, executive functioning, math, science and technology, which are meant to give our students a different perspective on the subject mater. Below is a description of some of our offerings:
Math without Chloroform
Math concepts learned through projects and experimentation, which are meant to engage our student’s interest, not
make them sit through yet another uninspiring lecture.
Science and Technology:
Trash to Power
Make a Sterling motor from tin cans and other common household items, while learning about atoms, heat, conductivity, pressure, power and conservation of energy.
Make a Mendocino solar powered electric motor while learning about atoms, electricity, conductivity, and magnetism.
Make a robot that follows light or a string while learning to solder and learning about electricity, conductivity, electrical components, and circuits.
