Education comes from the word educate which means to draw out, to call forth what is already present
as a possibility.”
What We Do
Innovative Teaching offers tutoring, classes and workshops in reading, phonics, writing, math and science, and executive functioning. We also offer after school homework help and alternatives to normal school settings.
We cater to students of all abilities, but also provides a unique approach to the learning challenged. Where we are a business, we are mostly concerned about what’s best for the student. For those who are in need, we can work with a family’s budget to provide them with the help they need.
How We Got Here
We are the vision of Kristine Fisher. She is a credentialed teacher and holds a Master’s in Education, She is also completing a Masters in Special Education.
As a veteran of teaching and managing tutoring/enrichment centers, Kristine says, “My heart went out to the learning challenged students who didn’t fit into the cookie cutter approach the centers offered.” “Often they were turned away or forced into a program that didn’t really help them.” Kristine founded Innovative Teaching to provide the individualized tutoring she felt wasn’t available elsewhere.
Where Kristine’s approach to tutoring and class instruction differs from most other centers is the caring she pours into her students. Whether from herself or her instructors, she insures there is an emotional and intellectual commitment to each and every student who comes through the door. Having raised a son who was on the autistic spectrum and a son with Dsylexia, she knows the challenges unique students face. Because of this, she is willing to put the extra time and effort into lesson planning and preparation that makes struggling students financially unattractive to other providers.
